As a part of our ongoing effort to innovate and improve upon the IoT feature set, on 5/28/19 Verizon will be enhancing the messaging features for CAT-M devices. Customers that have deployed CAT-M devices on the Verizon network will gain the ability to send SMS messages to their distributed assets using any cloud server or device (SMS messaging for Cat-M was previously limited to those messages that originated from a CAT-M end point). Please note, if a customer prefers to disable the new feature, the customer should reach out to its account representative to discuss the restriction options that are available.
