The product is intended to connect (via wire) to metering devices and record consumption data. The data be reported at least once per day to a cloud-based sever.
The device can be activated via proprietary IR interface, or by meter consumption.
The product also contains a proprietary 900MHz transceiver. (Co-transmission with cellular is strictly prohibited.) In theory, this feature is utilized, to collect meter reading data, if cellular coverage is insufficient.
